Lucy In Disguise Shop Launch, London- featuring Liz Mendez Amazing Accessories

I went to support one of my oldest friends Liz Mendez shop launch last week for her new vintage store Lucy In Disguise in Covent Garden at the start of London Fashion Week. The shop is the brainchild of sisters Lilly and Sarah Allen and Liz is responsible for all the accessories in the shop and has put allot of time and effort into sourcing pieces from across the World.

The shop itself is very cute and the layout is great, as they have section for different decades, 40's, 50's 60's etc which makes it easy to find stuff- the 80's section for me was the best (no brainer) with some fabulous jackets.
They have found some beautiful pieces from Lacroix to Chanel from LA, San Fran, Paris from Liz, Lilly & Sarah's trips all over the globe. The prices do reflect the quality and the high end labels & also the simple fact that everyone is now into vintage, ergo you will have to have quite deep pockets to shop at Lucy In Disguise, however they also do cute little 'lucy' bags and T- shirts with their illustrated logo on.

The launch party last Wednesday at the shop was fulled with the friends and family of Liz, Lilly and Sarah including musicians, fashionistas and magazine peeps alongside some random tabloid chicks. It was a fun way to showcase the clothes with free champagne, music from DJ Seb Chew and goodie bags. The place was rammed to the rafters and the obligatory Paparazzi lay in wait for some Danielly Lloyd/ Lilly/ Meg Mathews action ;)

Here's why it's important to get involved people!
People with autism are as individual as you and often don’t fit in services for people with learning disabilities or mental health issues. However, there are no government services outside education for those who simply can’t be boxed. This leaves thousands of people with autism isolated and their families alone to cope.

Resources for Autism is the only UK organisation providing:
• Specialist play and youth schemes with full respite
• Specialist art and music therapy
• Specialist home-based support for families

Having autism should not stop life...

Much work, gigging, Bday celebrations & cake was had this past 4 days!

The last 5 days has comprised of me spinning in store for H&M launch at Bluewater, gigs for my friend Juliette's Bday on Friday and celebrating STATIS' (my co-member from Beatnik) Birthday too! There was much drinking, bowling at Shoreditch House, followed by a messy night out, jokes & cake. Thanks to my sister Tina for baking an amazing chocolate cake which we decorated with all Statis' nicknames :)

BEATNIK hearts Chromeo- The genius that is the Chromeo boys

Statis turned me onto Chromeo a while ago, I was a late-comer by his standards. They are officially one of our (Beatnik's) favourite bands ever. I love their 80's synths, lust after their keyboard skills, their touches of Hall & Oats, Prince and PFunk and their cute styles. They are G's and their tunes are amazing..their new song is out now, as blogged below on previous Chromeo love- in...

BEATNIK rock the H&M Fashion Evening for VOGUE, Oxford Street, Ldn, Sept 10th 09

Statis and I rocked up to the Vogue shopping evening with H&M last Thursday to do a back to back dj set. I really enjoy DJing back to back with Statis as we have the same taste in music but with many different influences. Statis loves Squarepusher, Al Greene, Drum & Bass, Slick Rick, Mr Scruff, Mr Vegas and anything obscure and super cool underground...and I love 80's, hip hop, old house & tons of other stuff. Mixed together we were pulling some TUNES out of our very long sleeves! Very fun night- my favourite part was a beautiful lady of a certain age skanking to Musical Youth! You rock!!

Karen's Birthday Bash at The Wellington, LDN

One of my best friends Karen had her Bday knees up at The Wellington last week, much fun was had by all and I saw many old friends. Big Up Lauretta who just had a beautiful baby girl, Allon who I dont get to see enough & Freddie for a wonderful dinner at Automat & night out at his place Jalouse- here are some pics of my crew and the Birthday Girl :) x
