All the hotels are exactly the kind of places I would want to stay, individual, very chic & hidden away.
I asked Lulu from Chic retreats for some more inside tips for the travelling DJ...
NIKKI: Tell me about Chic Retreats, what is the concept & the Chic Retreats ethos?
LULU: I founded Chic Retreats at the beginning of 2003 after a life long passion for small hotels. It started with just 17 properties and now features over 400. Chic Retreats is all about guests feeling at home wherever they go...so that they are treated as an individual and not just a room number. The focus is on privately owned and privately run hotels with less than 30 rooms ensuring warmth and personal service. I also have a good relationship and good communication with each hotel which is of paramount importance both for us and for our clients
NIKKI: Where are your personal top 3 Chic retreats you have visited in the past year?
LULU: Les Jardins Secrets, France, for its luxury, charm and personal service, as well as really fantastic Ayurvedic massage. The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet!
JK Place Capri is the ultimate coastal hideaway on the island of Capri. Beautiful design, wonderful staff and delicious food make it one of my top places to stay for a special occasion.
Vila Joya in the Algarve has everything you could ever ask for from a small boutique hotel; stunning spa, swimming pool, beautiful suites and the only 2 Star Michelin Restaurant in Portugal.
NIKKI: What are your Top Tips for travelers?
LULU: Always have a coin equivalent to a euro or £1 – you never know if you may need it for a trolley on arrival!
NIKKI: Yes! I always forget that! lol

LULU: The Manor in Corsica is a wonderful little hideaway – remote and charming this gem is totally unspoilt with a pool and beach nearby it makes the perfect escape, alternatively for total simplicity and authenticity head to Dalya Life in Turkey where rates start at EUR 60 per night.
