Chakra Balancing & Reiki with Nina Samuel- Camps
A little while ago I went to see an old friend of mine Nina Samuel Camps who I met whilst DJing at some events she was looking after in her past life as a PR director. A couple of years ago Nina decided to take herself off around the world for a year and she came back as a fully qualified Reiki Master.
This is no easy thing and is an amazing achievement. Nina has some truly fascinating stories and knowledge that she has gathered on her travels from all over the far east.
I'm very interested in all sorts of non- conventional health treatments as I had years of being stuffed full of anti- biotics by doctors for kidney problems and I don't think this is good for anyone.
So I embrace all these experiences from Bikram to Reiki, acupuncture and homeopathy.
Nina studied with one of India's leading Masters and was taught how to remove the blocked energy from chakra's and then re-energise the area.
At this point I have to admit I don't fully understand what chakra's are, or I didn't until it ws explained to me properly. I know Bikram Yoga is good for them and I always feel amazing after a Bikram class, so I was looking forward to more of that :)
Nina explained to me that everyone has chakras - there are seven, running from the base of the spine to the top of the head. They relate to the different organs in your body as well as emotions.
'The crux of unblocking Chakra's is it actually makes a significant difference to the effect of the treatment so you can really feel the benefits ie calmer, more clarity, peace of mind'. Nina said.
She went on to explain 'We cannot avoid coming into contact with negative energy or feeling down sometimes, but there is a lot that we can do to change our feelings from
negative to positive and to protect ourselves from harmful energy in the
environment'
I had an hour's treatment with Nina who made me feel instantly relaxed, I in fact was so relaxed afterwards that I could have had a lovely sleep. Without going into too much detail I had quite allot of blocked energy apparently!- what a surprise- and some issues..(again surprise) lol There was a crazy sensation of buzzing energy and I saw lots of crazy colours and things flashing through my mind. Apparently this is normal. There were also things that Nina felt and told me that were spookily correct about past experiences and people.
After my treatment I felt a weird sensation of happiness and no road rage driving home- unheard of!- I slept better than I had in weeks and I have been since.
I would say if you are tired, feel a bit down, unhappy or stressed out give Chakra Balancing a go. Nina is a really interesting and knowledgeable in this field and makes it all a very easy pleasurable experience. She is also completely fascinating!
The lovely Nina Samuel- Camps

This looks wicked! If you are in the South East, get down to the DE LA WARR Pavillion to see this!
The Heritage Orchestra feat DJ Switch, Beardyman & Gabriel Prokoviev at The De La Warr Pavillion, HastingsThe Heritage Orchestra are a uniquely placed group of forward-thinking musicians and composers. Their collaborative approach and modern production values has set them on a new path that bridges the worlds of mainstream, cult, experimental and popular art and music. Over the coming months The Heritage Orchestra and De La Warr Pavilion are due to embark on a new residency, collaborating together on a number of musical projects. This event marks the launch of this union and features a number of special guests. (Sat 14th November 09)
Heritage Orchestra feat. DJ Switch in Gabriel Prokofiev's Concerto for Turntables & Orchestra
DJ Switch
As a four time national DJ battle champion, and current world champion, his shows contain a repertoire of visual tricks so quick you'd think he was stuck on fast-forward. With technical skill that leaves half the crowd with their jaws hanging, and a musical selection that keeps the other half dancing, don’t miss your chance to catch DJ Switch.
Gabriel Prokofiev
Grandson of Russian composer and founder of record label Nonclassical, Prokofiev junior is a force to be reckoned with. On a mission to break-down and repackage classical music for new audiences, this eclectic composer has worked on numerous underground dance music projects as well as producing his own hip hop and electro remixes.
Beardyman
World class solo human beatbox, Beardyman uses his voice and live synths, driven through cutting-edge sound technology to create dance-inducing layered rhythms. Fully produced songs, often totally improvised and all created entirely from scratch make for truly breath taking soundscapes.
PS: WATCH THIS FILM BELOW- ITS WICKED!
This looks like a great event, really fun and a way to get people engaged with classical musical instruments but in a totally bang up to date sound. I love it. Plus Hastings is only 60miles from London (1-1/2hrs drive) well worth it for such a unique night out...
you can book tickets on the De La Warr website or here:

FASHION X Redchurch Street, E1
Yesterday I went down to the Fashion X Showroom & Pop 'In' Boutique in Redchurch Street, E1. I was invited by Deborah Debonaire, the mastermind & designer behind the idea. The concept being to take over a gallery space in Redchurch Street to showcase emerging UK and international design talent during and after London Fashion Week.
Based in the heart of East London, Fashion- X have created a showroom and conceptual pop-in space at the Outside World Gallery, where a series of events will be taking place through to 28th September, as an extension of London Fashion Week.
Founder Deborah Debonair explained the inspiration for Fashion-X to me yesterday as
I went to drop off a DJ NIKKI mixed soundtrack for their Fashion X guerilla fashion show yesterday, have a chat, hang out and drool over the clothes :)
Deborah said “We struck up the idea after listening to the wants of young designers and creative’s who had no money to showcase their work on a big stage. The combination of the current economic climate and the monopolisation of the Fashion week arena by the big name designers make it near impossible for their voices to be heard.”
''Fashion-X aims to offer emerging designers great exposure to the UK market in addition to providing them with a nurturing support network. Our services include everything from look book layout, show styling, press and PR in addition to facilitating introductions to the World’s best Buyers''
Check out some of the great pieces they had, I only had my camera phone, so excuse the pic quality please!
Prices start from £50
Deborah Debonaire with some of her pieces
James Hock's pieces
Beatrice K Newman with some of her amazing knitwear

Chas and Dave split :( !
I was so sad to hear yesterday that London legends Chas and Dave have split after 35 years together. Bassist and singer Dave Peacock is to retire from the music business following the death of his wife Sue from lung cancer in July. I once saw them on an Easy Jet flight and now fully regret not asking for my first autograph. If it was my only one- it would have been a good un'
Chas and dave forever...
My favourite Chas and Dave record is 'London Girls'- such a tune!
Pianist Chas Hodges said he will honour their touring commitments under the new name of Chas And His Band.

Kano's new Video- Rock N Roller.. This one's for you Tash
My friend Tash (stylist extraordinaire) has an unheathy interest in this young man lol
I think Kano could do with Miss Natasha Chang Lewis' help in the styling stakes- so they would make the perfect couple...here is Kano wearing an ok outfit (in his new Video Rock n Roller), check the fantastic Jeremy Scott for Adidas trainers, that I actually possess too. (except mine a gold and better :)
The tune is quite good could do with some dirty remixes to give it more kick.
My Jeremy Scott 'Wings'
Finally here is some great stylin by the aforementioned...by Ms Chang Lewis, she will kill me for this, but look what she can do for a young man (below).
The world has to know about her.
