Big Man Zest 'Who I Am' Single Release in support of the ACLT

Big Man Zest is making waves in UK music. He is about to release his first debut solo single 'Who I Am' and is throwing a Single Release Party with an astounding line- up of artists performing.  He is also donating the proceeds from the party and first months record sales to the ACLT who are in real danger of closing unless they raise much needed funds. Here Zest tells me about his association with the charity, his new single and his music.

NIKKI: Tell me about your single launch party on the 31st in Shoreditch...

ZEST: My Single release party is on Monday 31st January 2011 for my new single Who I Am produced by Beatnik! It is out for digital download from  iTunes, Amazon, Tescos… Everywhere. I wasn’t going to hold a launch event then I heard about the Save the ACLT charity Campaign. The African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT)  a bone barrow charity which has helped save many lives is at risk of closure if it doesn't raise £80k by March. The charity is close to my heart and so I wanted to do my bit to help. The first month sales from Who I Am and all proceeds raised  at the launch party which will include live performances, charity auction & raffle will be donated to the ACLT. RSVP info@bigmanzest.com

NIKKI: Tell me about your association with the ACLT and how that came about ?

ZEST: I have close ties with the ACLT a family friend was supported by the ACLT when they suffered with cancer, I also joined the bone marrow register last year.

NIKKI: You have a pretty impressive line up of performers for the launch - how did they all become involved?

ZEST: I was very lucky all my friends that I approached were quick to jump on board and support me in bringing this event together for the ACLT, I have many people still offering to help & support with performances which is a very good look. The line up is taster of all the great music and artists in the UK its going to be a great night!

NIKKI: The 1st month sales of 'Who I Am' is going to the ACLT, what made you come up with this great idea?

ZEST: With the single being released on 31st Jan I thought it would be a perfect way to raise the profile of the ACLT within the younger generation whilst also being a great way to raise funds

NIKKI: What can people do to help the ACLT?

ZEST: People can help the ACLT by buying my single Who I Am when it is released on 31.01.11 the first 1st months sales will be donated to the ACLT. There are many ways to donate you can text ACLT to 70300 to donate £3 or log onto www.aclt.org for links to donate online with gift aid etc. spread the word about the campaign the more people that can get involved & help the better!

NIKKI: What's in store in 2011 for you and what music can we expect?

ZEST: I’m focused on making more great music! The plan is to release 4-5 singles this year and finalise my album. The world will see a lot more of the Big Man Zest this year, I’ve got more music videos in the pipeline, feature videos and my supporters can get a regular dose of the Big Man Zest thorough my blog ‘Big Man Diaries’ available on my website www.bigmanzest.com. I’ll also be doing more shows
